Details of Cheryl Cole’s brief X Factor USA appearance and how her exit is dealt with have been revealed ahead of the show’s premiere this week.
Since Cheryl was axed from the panel in June after just two rounds of auditions, there has been lots of speculation as to how she would be written out the show, and whether she would feature at all.
Simon Cowell has confirmed the Girls Aloud singer will appear in Wednesday’s premiere, and details of exit have also surfaced.
He said at a press conference: “She is in episode one. She is in the first hour.
“In terms of how we address it, I think we pretty much tell it as it was. She was on the show and then she got replaced by Nicole. On the first half of the show next week it’s Cheryl and then the second half is Nicole.”
During a special 90-minute preview made up of footage from the premiere, no details of Cheryl’s exit were given, reports Digital Spy.
Instead, host Steve Jones simply announces: “With a new city comes a big change – the arrival of a new judge. It’s Nicole Scherzinger who replaces Cheryl as the new X Factor judge.”
Until Cole’s departure, Scherzinger was set to co-host the series with Jones.
The X Factor USA premieres on Fox, Wednesday night at 8pm. UK viewers can watch the launch on Thursday evening, at 8pm on ITV2. An eight-minute trailer was released last week.
Are you pleased that Cheryl will still feature in the show?
Keep it central!

Cheryl should have stayed not because i like her but because she has more to offer than Nicole.
I agree with you. Cheryl has the experience of being a judge on the British version and she proved that she was the best mentor by a mile. I remember seeing Nicole in bootcamp last year in London and her comments were just too simple and she did not have anything to offer.
Jan Brady: [her inner voice] She has every right to be mad; they are her socks. But why does Marcia get all the socks? Why does Marcia get all the trophies? Why does Marcia get all the good drawers?
The names and places have been altered to protect the guilty.
nicole who big mistake simon should of stood by cheryl nicole just loves herself get a grip hope x factor usa is a flop
Nicole’s comments are just ridiculous. she does not help the contestants at all. she is the biggest mistake on the x factor. with cheryl, everything would have been way better
do you know I think you are right, It would be better with Cheryl but it is early days. Nicole I do not like and think yes a big mistake. I laughed when she was up dancing with Paula she did not look comfortabe and it was cringe worthy
i am saying this in here as the team is into Big Brother updating it every single minute
About about the USA Version Launch
It was rubbish anybody from USA i am sorry but UK is well better it failed the ratings UK got more viewers on launch.
X Factor Central no being rude but you need to get this site up and going man old news UK bootcamp is tomor,USA Launch was 2 nights ago nothing about them.and the date is to late for changing i own 8 website and i say out of this i give XFC 6.10 for poor maintenance.
STV Entertainment has more updates than this .
Cheryl Cole cannot sing. She should’nt be judging anything. She only cares about herself and brand cheryl. Nicole was great on uk x factor. Her opinions were constructive whereas cheryl’s ae usually based on how cute contestants are. They made the right decision to replace her. Plus she got paid 1.2 million for four days work!
Jealous much!
You worded it perfectly my friend. All these people are deluded and clearly none of them watched the previous run of X Factor. She was no good. She sold most of her acts short to focus on Cher and sometimes, Rebecca. A good mentor doesn’t do that. When Nicole stood in for her, she was fantastic. Yes, some of Nicole’s comments on the American show I feel played up to the simple minds but it is still early days. Nicole is more credible than Cheryl. Two bands and a solo career and an actual decent voice. She has charisma and I’d much rather take advice from someone like Nicole than Cheryl (the same Cheryl who just *didn’t* vote one show and ended it with one of her less favourite acts going home [Tracy] WHO DOES THAT!) I don’t feel sorry for Cheryl. People kill themselves trying to make it in America for years, so forgive me if I’m less than bothered by the unfortunate result of a handed opportunity. ¬_¬
Cheryl did not fit into the US X Factor, she looked uncomfortable and her comments are always the same. New UK X Factor judges show her how it’s supposed to be done!!
Yeah I can imagine Nicole being just your type of idol! The UK judges are robots they all agree on everything zzzzzzzzz
LOL that after all the rubbish written about Cheryl Cole in the UK recently, the US loved her and her accent! Mistake Simon and you know it!
