X Factor twist “costs Simon Cowell £200k”

Tonight’s live show twist will reportedly set Simon Cowell back £200,000 through money lost from having no public vote.

Yesterday it was revealed that the ‘big twist’ we were promised would see each judge have to send one of their own acts home this Sunday, meaning no public vote until week 2.

The Sun reports that producers want this to provide drama for the viewers, and so Simon agreed to cover the £200,000 lost from phone votes.

A source said: “The series has a new judging panel and ITV wants bumper ratings for the first live episodes.”

The live shows commence tonight at 7:30pm with a ‘UK vs US’ theme. It has also been confirmed that Cee Lo Green and Matt Cardle will give special performances over the weekend.

Would you have preferred the chance to vote this weekend instead of the judges deciding?

Keep it central!

Who cares? Simon actually makes that from phone voting, it seems with all the money the show is making it is not really costing ITV a dime!

  2. I have to say, I’ve really gone off the show especially as I had to watch the pointless boot of 4 contestants with just the judges deciding. Would really be put off auditioning for this as it is brutal to send 4 people home without public say after giving them false hopes. The judges are suppose to support their acts not play them off against each other. Keep the judges decisions to JUDGES HOUSES NEXT TIME PLEASE!!!!
