Sami Brookes has been voted off of this year’s X Factor after losing out in the sing off to Kitty Brucknell.

Sami and Kitty received the fewest public votes following their Rock Week performances, and the judges decided to send home Sami after the pair sang for survival in the final showdown.

Kitty won two votes from Gary and Kelly following her rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory’, but Tulisa voted for Sami’s performance of Aretha Franklin’s ‘You Make Me Feel’ in the sing off.

That meant it was down to Louis to send one of his own acts home, and after some thought, opted not to go to deadlock but to say goodbye to Sami.

Kitty’s survival through to next week’s Halloween special was greated by boos from some audience members, but the nevertheless, the controversial contestant lives to fight another day.
