Rihanna is set for a performance at this year’s X Factor Boot Camp stage, according to reports.

The Daily Star claims the Boot Camp format will be overhauled for series 8, and will be tougher and longer than ever, with a week of dance classes and song writing tasks.

It is also rumoured that producers are hoping to get Rihanna to take to the stage before the hopefuls perform in front of her, the judges and the huge Wembley Arena crowd.

“It will be very nerve-racking for teh contestants but great viewing for the audience,” an insider said. “Who could follow Rihanna and be confident? This will definitely weed out the good from the bad.”

The popstar’s performance in last year’s final attracted thousands of complaints for being sexually explicit, but Ofcom eventually deemed the broadcast not to be in breach of guidelines.
