It was the third week of auditions last night, and the X Factor rolled up in London and Glasgow as the search for the next big artist continued.
Gary, Kelly, Tulisa and Louis were hoping to find even more talent to match the likes of Janet Devlin, Misha Bryan and The Keys discovered in week 1 and week 2.
How did they get on? Here’s our week 3 recap…
First up in London was David Wilder. Hoping to become a rock legend, the singer told Louis: “Money, fame and girls are fantastic, but the first and foremost thing I am in this fois the music.” He certainly knew the right things to say, but would his rendition of ‘Life On Mars’ impress?
“It was so wrong, it was so good!”Gary Barlow
Kelly was amazed at the 42-year-old’s energy, which saw him run through the O2 Arena crowd. Gary had mixed emotions, and told him: “You had bad tuning, bad timing, bad diction… but having said all that, I absolutely loved it. It so wrong, it was so good!”
With four yeses, David was through to Bootcamp.

David and Luke both had successful auditions and progressed to Bootcamp.
One particualar set of hopefuls that blew the judges away yesterday were the 16-year-olds, who Gary described as being “so hip and having everything”. We saw Lemuel Knights, Max Mackay and Lizzie Colbourne all progress through to Bootcamp, as well as Luke Lucas from Margate.
“You don’t learnt to sing like that, you’re born with a voice like that.”Gary Barlow
Luke admitted to having a crush on Tulisa, and even got a cheeky kiss from the judge before his performance of ‘Who’s Loving You?’
Kelly said: “I didn’t expect a voice like that. I was so impressed, well done.” Tulisa , Louis and Gary were all equally amazed and all each voted the young singer through to Bootcamp. However, not all of the acts in yesterday’s show were as talented.
After a disastrous audition in 2010 which saw him impersonating Michael Jackson, Michael Lewis returned to try out his luck on the new judging panel. The promised “a new attitude, new vocals and new positivity”, but the 27-year-old didn’t respond well to the judges’ criticism.
With four no’s, Michael took a seat on the stage refusing to leave, and even called the audience “shallow and two-faced”. Gary took it upon himself to remove Michael from the stage, shaking his hand and kindly wished the singer good luck.

Michael refused to leave the stage after a poor audition, but Jade wowed with an Adele cover.
The auditions then moved to Glasgow, where one act in particular stood out.
Jade Richards, a student from Fife, sang Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’. The emotional performance left her Gran in tears backstage, as well as Kelly on the panel.
The judge was particularly amazed, revealing: “I whispered to Gary before you started singing, ‘If this goes the way I think it goes, it will be amazing’. I had a dream, and I’ve been thinking about that song all weekend, and the fact you came out and sang it so beautifully… Amazing! You have The X Factor and then some!”
“You have The X Factor and then some!”Kelly Rowland
Gary promised the audition would change the 21-year-old’s life, and even Louis shed a tear (pictured top), telling her: “You have a God-given talent. I’ve been doing the show eight years, and this is what it’s all about. You deserve a break because you’ve got talent!”
With four yeses, Jade flew into the next round, and with that, another week of auditions came to a close.
The X Factor returns next weekend for a double bill, airing on Saturday and Sunday night.
