Little Mix have become the first group to win The X Factor, after triumphing over Marcus in tonight’s final.

They were the first girl band to reach an X Factor final, and mentored by Tulisa, managed to go all the way in front of a 10,000 strong crowd at Wembley Arena.

Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade sang three songs during Sunday’s results show, including Christmas-classic ‘Silent Night’ and their song of the series ‘Don’t Let Go’.

They also debuted their winners single, a cover of Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’, available now.

Posting on Twitter, X Factor boss Simon Cowell said: “Congratulations to Little Mix. I was really hoping a group would win this year. Tulisa has done a great job. These girls could be stars.”

Marcus Collin’s finished up in second place, and mentor Gary Barlow has promised to help the singer launch his career.
