Lascel Woods gave an impressive rendition of ‘Use Somebody’ at the O2 Arena, to earn his place at Bootcamp.

Supporting Lascel in London was his mother, who had never seen her son perform previously. The 20-year-old was desperate to make the most of his “amazing opportunity” and to make his mum proud.

Lascel received a standing ovation from the crowd and all four judges, who were full of praise for the Brighton born singer.

Tulisa described the performance as”outstanding and amazing”, and called for Lascel’s mum to join her emotional son on stage.

“That was absolutely stunning,” said Gary. “For me, more so than the beautiful singing, the great pitch, the great timing – more importantly than that, I believed every single word that you sang to us. Well done.”

With a yes from each judge, Lascel was through to Bootcamp.
