Judges axe contestants in Boot Camp twist

A number of contestants who made it through the auditions were axed from this year’s X Factor before Boot Camp began in a surprise twist by the new judges.

Digital Spy reports that when Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh arrived at Selsdon Park for Boot Camp, they unveiled a twist to the awaiting hopefuls on the hotel lawn.

The four decided that after reviewing the audition tapes, not all of the acts were up to Boot Camp standard, so were sent home before they day had begun.

“While you were partying last night, we were looking at your audition tapes. We only want to work with the people who can go all the way,” Kelly informed the hopefuls.

Gary continued: “We don’t believe everyone standing in front of us has the potential to make it all the way in this competition. Some of you are going home now.”

“This is a tough industry and we’ve got to believe in you,” Tulisa added.

It was previously reported that this year’s Boot Camp will be the toughest yet.

Host Dermot O’Leary has said: “Bootcamp is where the competition becomes a battle of nerves. It can be littered with the graves of really very good singers who just can’t take the pressure.”

The X Factor returns to ITV1 tomorrow night at 8pm, with highlights of the auditions from around the country.

So far Janet Devlin is the best singer sweet and ladylike – there was an over bearing show off knob head who couldn’t sing – a psychopath that just adored herself & a prostitute lap dancer type that couldn’t sing – disgusting & yuk!!! – The judges aren’t much better the only decent one s Gary Barlow and that’s saying it grudgingly!!! X-factor has really gone down the tubes never really like it much but now it crap – overbearing female cheap looking judges especially that American thing – who the f… are they anyway?

Yea that is basically what i wrote/thought. The first guy who i as well thought acted like a knob had an okay voice. Then the spit personality self adoring blonde came on, and to be quite honest, needs a fair bit of work also. I dunno what they were thinking when they complimented her, but they defiantly regretted doing that. Then as you say, Goldie the mature lap dancer, who knew what she was doing as she turned around to do up her shoes and then of course the bell from two years ago who is still a bell, maybe ever more so now.

The only good one was, as i said and you say, Janet Devlin.

But, i d think that the panel are better, although the fact they had to chop singers they let in before boot camp started, kinda suggests that the power went to their heads. I have a feeling that Gary thankfully had something to do with bringing them back down to earth.

You do have to keep in mind that it’s not just a singing competition, it’s a TV show and they need to make it interesting.

I am so disappointed with the judges choice,
on x-factor Sunday 26th, sept,2011 show. So many really good singers were axed – where oh where was John Adams the maths teacher from Wales? At his first audition, the judges went wild, re run it and listen to all their comments, yet they dropped him
SHAME on the lot of you, you MESSED up there. One thing is to be said for SIMON COWELL, that man knows TALENT when he see and hears it. Go away the four of you, you are RUBBISH. I hope Sami Brookes wins, she is the only decent singer of the lot. Lost interest now, back to clubing with my friends at the week=ends.
