X Factor judge Gary Barlow will write this year’s winner’s song and is set to earn a huge bonus for his work.
Until now, all X Factor winner’s songs have been covers except for Shayne Ward’s ‘That’s My Goal’.
This year, Take That singer Barlow will reportedly earn £1 million for writing the track, on top of his £1.5 million salary for being a judge.
A source told The Sun: “The move will be a huge boost to the show’s credibility as it means the X Factor single won’t be just another cover. It’s a licence to print money for Gary.
“It’s not like there is one winner. Whoever comes second usually has a good career like Olly Murs and JLS… he could end up writing for all of them.”
Gary Barlow has also written the debut single for 2010 winner Matt Cardle. The song – ‘Run For Your Life’ – is released next month.
This year, the timing of the final means that the winner’s single will be released two weeks before Christmas, meaning other songs will have a chance to fight for the festive nmber one spot.
Do you think the move will help the show’s credibility?
Keep it central!

No hope it is a flop!
Writing a song is one thing, them being forced to record and release it is another.
What if, unbelieveably a group wins, a girl or over 25? Is it really that good a song anyone can sing it?
Such a good song Gary doesn’t think he’d make more money off it if Take That didn’t release it?
I can’t think of a better person to write the winners song. His track record is simply amazing! Previous winning songs have been, lets face it, dire. So this is superb news!
One of the best song writers of all time. good luck to all contestants (Amelia Lily

Can’t think of anyone better? Really?
