X Factor 2010 contestant Cher Lloyd has swaggered straight to the top of the UK singles chart with her debut song ‘Swagger Jagger’.
Cher reached the final of last year’s competition, but finished in fourth place behind One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and eventual winner Matt Cardle.
The 18-year-old received mixed feelings from viewers regarding her performance style on the show, however, that has not stopped her from knocking the 2008 X Factor runners-up JLS off the top spot and claiming her first number one.
A very nervous Cher appeared on the Official Chart Show on Radio 1 this evening, and said of her achievement: “Having a number one was the best thing I could have asked for.
“Thanks to every single one of you who bought the single, you have actually made my whole life.”

Cher’s debut album is due for release in November. Are you pleased to see her enjoying chart success with her first single?
Keep it central!
